Oh yes. Drop is not messing about this year, people - this is a unique chance to have a bit of a knees-up in the building normally used for boring City Council meetings and where important decisions about Nottingham are made. And Eeh! It's raaht posh in 'ere, me duck...

The Jazz Café will be set up in the grand, Palace of Versaille-style surroundings of the Ballroom, for a chilled-out afternoon and evening of – what else? Jazz. Castle Rock Brewery will be running a bar serving local real ale.

LATEST UPDATE...

Nusantara is a performing arts company specialising in the music & dance of south east Asia which was set up in 1999. Their performance programme consists of both traditional & contemporary music and dance.

Kayu Gangsa is the contemporary music element of Nusantara. At the heart of their sound is an extended bronze Malay gamelan set.The exotic and mesmeric quality of the gamelan is enhanced further by the recent introduction of western instrumentation into the Kayu Gangsa sound, showing a whole new musical style and fusion between West & East.

For this Drop In The Ocean performance Kayu Gangsa will be showcasing the highlights of their recent sell-out concert at the Sandfield Theatre.

The Nusantara musical co-ordinator, Matt Godfrey said about the forth coming performance, “All the players have worked really hard at perfecting the show and between us we’ve created a very eclectic dynamic set. The group has gone from strength to strength recently as it’s attracted some of Nottingham’s most talented musicians. Such a wealth of musical experience under our collective belt is really evident in the quality of the music we’ve been producing.”
