We’re all for cultural exchange at Drop In The Ocean, and this year we’ve got a right treat for you – the good people at Nottingham Trent University are allowing us to have the run of their extremely top-drawer venues, opening them to the general public for the first time in over a decade. If you’ve ever wondered how the other half live in Notts, get yourself down to Trent.

(and yes, the beer’s cheap)

If you simply have to have it heavy, look no further than Sub (which used to be the old Trent Poly venue). The line-up is absolutely rammed with a selection of Nottingham’s most popular bands (Majik, Amusement Parks on Fire and The Hellset Orchestra), tacks on local faves such as Old Basford, Lo-Ego and Sanzen, and rounds off with Illuminatus and Spirytus. And there’s even Black Sabbath and Rage Against The Machine tribute bands. Do what we tell you: go there.
