Drop '06 - have you recovered yet?

Well, that wasn't too bad, was it? On June 11th 2006, Drop In The Ocean not only proved that it could stand on its own as a Nottingham music festival, but also put down a very important marker for the future.

If you were too busy slapping a bit o' meat on a grill, turning yourself into a lobster or watching Potatovia v the People's Republic of Macaroon on the telly to show up, you missed out big style. Over 400 bands and artists had it all day in 30 venues across Nottingham, and thousands of people got the keys to the city for a mere eight quid.

We've finally banked all the money raised on the day, and are about to collect the 10% bar take from all venues, so we'll be announcing the final total very soon. Not to let the cat out of the bag or anything, but we're very pleased with what we've raised. Furthermore, we're delighted to say that after we've stopped feeling so knackered, we'll be beginning the organisation for Drop In The Ocean '07, not to mention a couple of very interesting side-projects.

Until the final bit of cash is collected from the venues who did so much to make Drop '06 such a brilliant day, we'd like to thank everyone - bands, artists, local businesses, the Council and volunteers for coming together to help us out. We'll be in touch very soon...

Ta very much,

Drop In The Ocean
