The Butterfly Artist Profile

One of the kingpins of the Leeds music scene (although they have uni-related roots in Notts), The Butterfly have had just dropped their debut CD Care and look destined for far bigger things. Catch them while you can still get within touching distance.

They've inspired some pretty fine rhetoric, have The Butterfly.

"Music for the fall of the Berlin Wall"
"An aural Jackson Pollock"
"A Machiavellian eye-brow in the court of Florence"

All of which makes Vibrations saying that they sound a bit like Tool and a bit like SOAD seems a little undignified.  And that'd be true because 'Care' is a far far better, far, far BIGGER, record than that, not so much an album as an entire universe, put to music and crammed into 56 deafening, demanding, destructful minutes.  Like Terry Pratchett's Diskworld novels writ large into a Bach opera.  Only with humour bleed out and the stars dimmed down.
